Quality control in packaged water is one of those topics where every brand uses the same words and very few publish the actual numbers. The relevant question is what gets tested, how often, and what gets done with the results — not whether a brand "cares about quality".
What gets tested on every batch
- pH — confirmed within the 8.0 to 9.0 band for alkaline, 6.5 to 8.0 for mineral.
- TDS — confirmed within the target band for the product (80 to 250 mg/L for alkaline, 100 to 300 mg/L for mineral).
- Mineral profile — calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, bicarbonates measured against spec.
- Microbiological — coliforms, E. coli, total bacterial count. Zero tolerance on coliforms; bacterial count within BIS limits.
- Turbidity — confirmed below 1 NTU. Higher and the water reads visually cloudy.
- Heavy metals — periodic third-party testing across lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium.
Batch traceability
Every batch carries a stamped batch code, production date, and source line identifier. If a quality flag is raised on a specific bottle, the entire batch can be traced back to the production line, the test results, and the specific dispatch window. For B2B accounts running custom labels, batch tracking continues through to the property the dispatch reached.
Third-party reports
Internal lab results are reliable but third-party reports are independent. ORA runs accredited third-party verification on rolling cycles. Reports within the last six months are available on request for any B2B account — no follow-up needed.
